Rajasthan Administrative Services Exam

Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) exam for the recruitment of various government sector such as deputy secretary, additional district magistrate, joint secretary, deputy commissioner, special secretary, head of departments, principal secretaries, chief secretary etc.

Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have successfully completed their graduation or other equivalent degree from a recognized university.
The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and should not exceed than 35 year.

Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) Exam Pattern

The Combined Competitive Examination will be held in two successive stages-

(i) Preliminary Examination and (ii) Main Examination

Preliminary examination

The Preliminary Examination will consist of one paper on the subject specified below, which will be of objective type and carry a maximum of 200 marks. The examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The Standard of the paper will be that of a Bachelor’s Degree Level.

Main examination

(a) The number of candidates to be admitted in the Main Examination will be 15 times the total approximate number of vacancies (category wise) to be filled in the year in various Services and posts. Candidates who secure the same percentage of marks as may be fixed by the Commission for any lower range will be admitted to the Examination.

(b) The written examination will consist of the following four papers which will be of descriptive/analytical type. Candidate are required to take all the papers listed below which will consist of brief, medium, long and descriptive type questions. The standard of questions for General Hindi and General English will be that of Sr. Secondary level. The time allowed for each paper shall be 3 hours.

Negative Marking: 1/3rd

Syllabus for Rajasthan Administrative Services Mains:

The mains examination shall consist of 4 descriptive or analytical papers There will be brief, medium, long answer and descriptive type question. General Hindi and General English will be of senior secondary level.
